The movie and the book that impressed me tremendously. Very strong story.

Nešla jsem do kina, protože jsem si první chtěla přečíst knihu.

Když jsem viděla trailer, hned mě napadlo, že to bude skvělý příběh. A měla jsem pravdu. Jak jsem zmiňovala v minulé recenzi, filmy a knihy, které jsou založeny na skutečných událostech mě skoro vždy nadchnout ať už v tom dobrém či v tom špatném směru. Mají totiž určité kouzlo.

I did not go to the cinema because I wanted to read the book first.

When I saw the trailer, I immediately thought it would be a great story. And I was right. As I mentioned in a previous review, movies and books, which are based on actual events almost always inspire me, whether in a good or in the bad direction. They have a certain charm.

Kniha vypráví příběh ženy, která byla nechtěně uvězněna v těle muže. Kniha je plná odvahy, odhodlání, ale také velkých obětí. Musím říct, že hlavní hrdinka Lili by měla být příkladem pro všechny kteří kdy řeknou větu "To nejde." Protože věřte či ne, všechno jde, když máte tu správnou motivaci. Jen musí člověk chtít.

The book tells the story of a woman who was accidentally trapped in the body of a man. The book is full of courage, determination, but also big casualties. I must say that the heroine Lili should be an example for all who has ever said the phrase "I can not." Because believe it or not, everything goes, if you have the right motivation. Just one must want to.

Einar Wegener → Lili Elbe - hlavní postava, která někoho může pohoršovat a pro někoho být vzorem. Ale nikdo nemůže popřít její odvahu.

Gerda Wegener - žena Einara Wegenera, malířka, která svou inspiraci našla právě v Lili.

Hans Axgil - Einarův přítel z dětství, později velká podpora pro Gerdu a Lili.

Dr.Buson - Doktor, který se rozhodne pomoci Lili splnit její životní sen.

Ulla - skvělý tanečnice a přítelkyně Einara a Gerdy.

Einar Wegener → Lili Elbe - the main character, who could scandalizes someone or to be an inspiration for someone. But no one can deny her courage.

Gerda Wegener - Einar Wegener's wife, a painter who just found his inspiration in Lili.

- Gerda Wegenerová umřela sama a bez dětí v roce 1940, 9 let po smrti Lili Elbe.

- Manželství Wegenerových ve skutečnosti trvalo 26 let. Měli prý spíše otevřený vztah, který umožňoval Gerdě scházet se svými partnerkami. Po anulování manželství se jejich cesty rozešly. Lili zemřela ve věku 48 let po operaci (údajně poté, co její tělo odmítlo transplantovanou dělohu).

- Obrazy ve filmu namalovala britská umělkyně Susannah Brough ve spolupráci s produkční designérkou Eve Stewart a nejsou replikami obrazů Gerdy Wegenerové.

Nakonec bych ještě chtěla zmínit, že můj názor na film je velice kladný. I když jsem četla knihu, nemohu říct, že by byl filmový děj nějak rapidně ošizen. Snad mi tam chyběla Gerdina americká minulost. Když jsem knihu četla, rozhodla jsem se napsat rovnou autorovi a vyjádřit tak můj názor přímo zdroji.
